Read Ephesians 4:1-6
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if we had a crystal ball where we could see a movie of our life before we live it. If we knew about the challenges, temptations, and trials we could face, would we still embrace life? Would we walk away if we knew about the heartache and pain we would feel along the way? For this reason, God only allows us to experience life in moments. We experience happiness along with heartbreak, and even the most poignant moments of our lives are accompanied by multiple emotions. It may feel like at times that he is giving us more than we can handle, and at times we may reach our limit. The most important thing to remember, though, is that there is always more at stake than the present circumstances.
In the story of Naaman, everything Elisha does is to show Naaman that God has the power to heal. Elisha never meets Naaman one on one, but sends information through a messenger. He tells the king that Naaman will know there is a God in Israel and not just experience healing of leprosy. Elisha even refuses credit or compensation for the healing. The cool part of the story is that Elisha knew that God had greater plans for Elisha’s life than just heal his leprosy. It was important for Naaman to turn to God.
In our lives, there is always more at stake than just our present circumstances. Regardless of the hazard or issue we are facing, the answer always lies in a relationship with God.]]>
