Read Deuteronomy 30:3-5

Whenever I am going through old stuff, I always find stupid stuff that I have no clue why I keep around. Things that I got as a gift that came from someone that obviously didn’t know me, or something I picked up in the Wal Mart As Seen On Tv section because it looked amazing on the infomercial. I don’t really care about these things, so I don’t really care where they are for long periods of time. There are other things, though, that I go crazy trying to find if I misplace it even for a few minutes. Things like the TV remote, my wedding ring, or my cell phone. These are things I didn’t intend to misplace because they are important to me.

No one intends to lose their spiritual edge and drift away from God. In fact, we mostly have good intentions when it comes to growing spiritually and closer to God. Even when we do stray from God, He is still all about restoration. He wants to take us back, to forgive us, and bring us close to Him again. It doesn’t matter how much we’ve messed up and drifted away from Him, He’s always ready and willing to restore our relationship with Him.

The real question is how do we react when we lose our spiritual edge. Is it like something we come across now and then, and we don’t really care where it ends us. Or, do we do everything in our power to find it once we realized we lost it?]]>
