Hebrews 11:6 I enjoy cooking. I especially enjoy grilling. But, my first attempt as a kid to cook wasn’t something many like making burgers on the grill, it was cooking spaghetti noodles with my mom. I remember my mom explaining to me how much spaghetti to get out of the box right before I dropped half of the box’s contents on the floor. I remember her walking me through step by step what to do and when as we boiled the water, cooked the noodles, drained them, and everything in between. I remember being really confused as to why the noodles started the way they were. The whole process didn’t make sense to me. I didn’t think there was anyway that throwing these fragile sticks into water would magically turn them into spaghetti noodles, but I obediently followed my mom’s instructions because I knew she knew what she was doing even though I had no clue. I get the same feeling sometimes when I’m walking through life today. Sometimes things just don’t seem to make sense. I look at certain situations, and I just don’t see any way that things are going to work out the way they are supposed to from where I’m currently standing. I often feel like I have no clue what I’m doing, and my life is filled with mistakes. But, I take comfort in knowing that, even though I am clueless about what’s going on in my life and in the world, I can trust God because I know He knows what He is doing. When things don’t make sense to use, it’s then we should learn to put even more faith in God. It takes faith to obey God especially when we are confused or hurting. Don’t worry, though, even if you don’t see any way things will work out for the best, God sees the bigger picture. Just trust He knows what He’s doing.]]>
