Hebrews 12:1-13 dis·a·bil·i·ty: a disadvantage or handicap. Statistics show that nearly 1 out of every 5 Americans suffer from some sort of disability. Things such as being handicapped, being blind or deaf, and various other conditions that seemingly put people at a disadvantage in life. Things that hinder people from leading what most people would say is a healthy and happy life. Despite their disabilities, there are many instances of people who overcome their disability to do amazing things, live incredible lives, and accept who they are, where they are, and be happy. Events such as the Special Olympics and Paralympics are testaments to those individuals who overcome disabilities to live healthy and happy lives. While 1 in 5 people have some sort of recognized disability, we all have some disability that hinders us from living the life we could be living. We have disadvantages and handicaps that try to prevent us from living healthy and happy lives. Maybe you’re crippled by addictions, worry, bitterness, laziness, apathy, or even fear. Whatever your disability, it’s time to “throw it off.” It’s time for a breakthrough. What is your disability? What holds you back from living a healthy and happy life? From living the life that God wants you to live? Write it down on a piece a paper and write down two easy steps you can take to begin to see your breakthrough.]]>
