Read Ephesians 4:32 & Colossians 3:12-13
From the time we are born until the day we die, life is filled with doing things we just don’t really want to do. We don’t like to pay taxes or bills, but it’s required. Most don’t like waking up to go to work, but it’s something we have to do. There are family events and other obligations that we can’t get out of. There are things we have to do that aren’t fun and sometimes tough, but they are required in life.
Most of us know firsthand how hard it can be to forgive other people in our life. God has called us to choose to forgive others when they have wronged up because He chose to forgive us even though we have sinned against Him. Forgiveness isn’t an option when you are a follower of Jesus. It can be a tough thing to do, but it’s something we have to do because God requires it.
It can seem unimaginable to have to forgive someone that hurt or betrayed us or someone we love, but, if we want to live life the way God wants us to live it, there’s no other way around it. It’s not the most fun and it’s often tough, but it required to live a life that shines God’s love to the world.
Who do you need to forgive in your life?
