Read Numbers 32:23

Just a few months ago, I had found myself at the heaviest weight I had ever been. I had gained 75 pounds in the 8 years I had been out of High School, and I was already overweight then. I had gotten that way by thinking I could get away with eating whatever I wanted and not exercising without it coming back to bite me. When I began losing weight, I would often be tempted to cheat and splurge a little or not exercise as hard, but I knew that there was no hiding when I messed up…whatever I did would show itself with my weight eventually.

Many times we think the same way with sin in our life. We think we can do whatever, and if it doesn’t hurt me right then, I am okay. But, just like the weight gain, sin will eventually come back to bite you. You will always meet your sin again because no sin takes place without consequences.

This includes betraying other people in your life. We think we can stab someone in the back, and, if we get away with it, everything is fine. However, God is clear that whatever sin we commit, we will face the consequences of our actions. What do you do that you think you are getting away with that God would say you need to stop?
