Read Galatians 5:19-26

We often want to ignore problems and tough situations and hope they will go away. We think time will fix things, but it is often still there and, many times, the problem has gotten worse. When we’ve done wrong to someone else, we shouldn’t just hope things will work themselves out, we should seek to fix them.

The first thing to do is fix your betrayal is to apologize to specifics. We often want to apologize for the result of certain things instead of actually apologizing to what we actually did. Instead of skirting the issue, confess and apologize to what you did instead of for getting caught or for hurting someone.

The second thing we must do to fix our betrayal is to become broken and actually ask the other person to forgive us. We often allow pride to get in the way and we will say “I’m Sorry”, but we don’t actually ask someone “will you please forgive me.” WHen we’ve hurt someone, we need to be humble and get rid of pride in our life.

Finally, if we want to fix our betrayal, we have to change our behavior. We love to say we are sorry and then go right back to the way things were. Instead of just saying sorry with your mouth, prove that you are truly sorry by changing your behavior. Don’t just say you are sorry you yell all the time, say sorry then quit yelling all the time.

What is a situation in life that you need to fix and apologize for?
