Read Philippians 2:14-18

I’ve always been fascinated by the fact that the best coaches were usually benchwarmers when they played sports. They weren’t the best athletes or the greatest players, they were the ones who were so disappointed that they were stuck on the bench game after game. Little did they know at the time, those moments of disappointment were really just laying the groundwork for some incredible things in the future.

It’s easy for us to hang our head in situations like being benched on a team when life doesn’t go our way, but we need to remember that there is often much we can learn in those situations. When we sulk or pout over the situation, we have zero opportunity to learn from the situation. If we stay positive and trust God through our darkest moments, we will have the opportunity to learn and grow no matter what we are going through.

Stop living your life with your head down in disappointment and start looking around to see what God has in store for you. When we live our life with our heads down in disappointment, we have no chance of seeing what incredible things God has put in front of us. Instead of being crippled by our struggles, we should like at them to see how our goals match God’s goals, see the opportunities God continually puts in front of us, and draw closer to him for comfort, strength, and to be ready when He’s ready to do something amazing.
