Read Nehemiah 4:1-10 The people in Jerusalem had been giving everything they had to rebuilding the wall in Jerusalem. They had worked extremely hard, but they were still only about halfway through the building project. Once again, the people rebuilding the wall faced opposition. People opposed what they were doing. Not only that, but there were many people who doubted that they would be able to finish the project. There were still even more who doubted that the wall would stay standing even if a fox jumped on it…let a lone a foreign army. There were people who doubted that they would be able to finish what they started, and there were people who doubted that all the work they were doing would even make a difference. This is what happens so often to people who try to do great things for God. Doubters show up, or people even begin to doubt themselves. People began to ask if they will ever actually follow through with what they say they are going to do. A lot of times, we begin doubting ourselves and think, “does what I am working for really even matter?” or “can I really do this?” When the Jews faced this opposition, they did two things. One, they continued to work hard, and, two, they proclaimed that they had faith in God that He was behind what He had asked them to do. Instead of allowing doubt and opposition keep us from doing what we believe God wants us to do, we should use it as an opportunity to reaffirm our faith in what God is doing in our lives. We should use those times to show people how God is showing up and doing great things all around us. Action Step: Think about one area of your life that you have allowed doubt or opposition to keep you from doing something you believe God wants you to do. What can you do to proclaim that you trust God is behind what He wants you to do. Today’s Prayer: Pray for the children’s ministry and student ministry at C3. Pray that God will raise this group of kids and teenagers to give everything they have to Him and to always prove that they believe that God is behind whatever He has asked them to do.]]>
