Read Nehemiah 5:13-19 After Nehemiah put a stop to the injustice had in Jerusalem, Nehemiah practiced what he preached. Many individuals who were in his position took advantage of their authority by charging heavy taxes, taking land, and other self serving type things. This was not true of Nehemiah. Not only did Nehemiah avoid taking advantage of the people of Jerusalem, he actually invited many people into his home to eat when they were hungry. Nehemiah lived this way because he knew that, in order to follow God, he would have to live his life differently. He would have to be fair, and he would have to be generous. Nehemiah understood that if he wanted to follow God in his life, he was going to have to make sacrifices. It’s the same for us today. If we are going to follow Jesus, it is going to cost us something. Sometimes, we just have to do the right thing…even when we’d much rather take advantage of the situation. Action Step: Is there an area of your life where you’ve been holding onto something that you need to sacrifice to follow Jesus fully in your life? Start taking steps today to sacrifice that thing. Prayer Request: C3 has been uniquely positioned in the tri-state to make an impact in our community and to reach people who aren’t interested in church. Pray for the church over these 52 days leading up to Easter that God will use C3 to reach people and meet physical and spiritual needs in our area. —————————————————————————– Go to www.AroundC3.com/52days for more information about C3’s Change Your World in 52 Days Series and challenge.]]>
