Read Nehemiah 1:1-11 As we begin our reading through the book of Nehemiah, there are two things that immediately jump out about Nehemiah. 1. When he heard the news that things weren’t going well in Jerusalem and the walls were in ruins, he didn’t simply say “that’s too bad” and go on about his routine. Nehemiah cared about his homeland and his people, and he stopped and prayed. As we begin our journey to change the world over these 52 days leading up to Easter, we need to care enough to pray for those we would like to invite to church on Easter, those around us who are far from God, and for the needs of so many people in our area. 2. In his prayer, Nehemiah reminds God that God said that it didn’t matter how far someone had wandered away from Him, He would still accept them with wide open arms like in the story of the prodigal son. Remember, it doesn’t matter how far away you’ve gotten from God. He’s still waiting for you to turn back toward Him. Not only that, you can be encouraged by the fact that it doesn’t matter how far away from God the people you love in your life are, God will still allow them to turn back toward Him. Today’s action step: Pick out 2-5 people you’d like to invite to church over the next 52 days and make a goal of inviting them to church on Easter Sunday. Today’s Prayer: Begin praying for your 2-5 people you’d like to invite. Ask God to begin working in their lives and to open up opportunities for you to invite them to church on Easter Sunday. —————————————————————————– Go to www.AroundC3.com/52days for more information about C3’s Change Your World in 52 Days Series and challenge.]]>
