Children of God

Read: John 1.12-13 & Titus 3.5-7

As Christian believers, we are often compared to children and God as our Father. But, what does that mean? John1:12-13 says, “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” This passage says that being a child of God is a right that must be given by God, specifically, Jesus. Christ died so that we would no longer be orphans, but heirs to the kingdom of God. We are covered in Christ’s blood, therefore, we have the right to go boldly before the Lord. Ephesians 3:12 says, “In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” As a child of God, we are free to communicate directly with the Lord and have an intimate relationship with Him! There are echoes of this relationship with our imperfect, earthly fathers, but imagine what a perfect relationship with your father would look like, this and more is what God offers us as His children!]]>
