John 10:25-27 Have you ever gotten the silent treatment from someone? If you don’t care about or like someone, this technique is actually welcomed. When you do care about someone, though, the silent treatment is horrible. You want to work things out or at least just hear from the person, but the more you try to communicate, the more you get shut out. The silence in return can be awful. If you’re like me, I sometimes wonder if I am getting the silent treatment from God. I hear people talking about “hearing from God” or saying that “God told me” something. I’ve never had God audibly speak to me, and, I’m sure if I did, I would get some funny looks from others if I told people about it. But, I’ve learned that God doesn’t give us the silent treatment. God wants to talk with us. He wants to communicate with us. But, He doesn’t speak with us audibly. He speaks to us through a number of other ways. It might be through His word, through other people, through a gut feeling in prayer, through His creation, or any number of other ways. God is constantly communicating with us, we just have to be in the right place in our life to hear it. We need to be close to Him and seeking Him in our life in order to hear Him speaking to us.  ]]>
