After escaping Egypt, the Israelites found themselves in the wilderness in real danger of starving. The people began to complain to Moses and his brother Aaron. God recognized the tough spot the Israelites were in and provided food for them in the form of manna. Manna was bread that appeared after the dew was gone each morning. The Israelites could gather as much as they needed each day. God’s only rule was to not gather more than they needed for one day or it would get moldy and have maggots. God was teaching the Israelites to lean on Him and not their own resources. Do you trust more in your own abilities, resources, and logic than you do the plan and purpose God has for your life? Take a few minutes and pray that God would teach you how to lean on Him.
