Matthew 6:24 Now that most people we are around day by day have smartphones and spend their time texting and checking facebook, twitter, instagram, and several other social media accounts every few minutes, it has become more and more common for us to be talking to someone who is distracted. It seems like at least once a day that I’ll be talking to someone and they are completely distracted by their phone. I’ll just be chatting away, and I’ll ask a person a question with absolutely no response. It stings a little to know that the other person cares more about how many likes they’ve gotten than the question I had asked. Relationships, serving others, and loving God should be our priorities in life.  Eating dinner as a family is a thing of the past, and it’s not uncommon to watch a family in a restaurant deeply engaged in an array of electronic devices.  While the wealth we have can be a blessing, it often creates a curse that prevents us from seeing the things and people who really matter the most to us. Money is another thing that distracts us from the things that are truly important. Chasing money, possessions, and notoriety often derails our priorities and draws us away from what should be our one true top priority, our relationship with Jesus. How can you work to eliminate some distractions in your life to fill the relational voids you’ve been allowing to overtake your life?]]>
