1 Timothy 6:17-19 It always amuses me when I see on the news that a billionaire or someone who has hundreds of millions of dollars donates to charity. While I’m sure the gift is appreciated, people often act like it’s the most amazing thing in the world. In my mind, I think of how rich the person is, and I realize that the amount they gave is the equivalent of me handing someone a $20 bill. Sure it’s generous, but it didn’t really take much sacrifice. I’m much more impressed when someone around me who I know aren’t the richest person in the world who goes above and beyond to help someone who needs it. I know they’ve had to sacrifice in order to make it happen. Unlike these people, too many of us are willing to take what we have and keep it for ourselves. Unfortunately, many of us do not use our power or wealth positively.  We do a great job using these things on ourselves but neglect to impart our wealth or service on others.  The great news is that God has set aside this great responsibility for each of us–the bad news is that because of this more is expected of us.  Identify an area of your life where you can be more generous and look for opportunities to spread this generosity to others.]]>
