1 Corinthians 10:13 If you’ve ever tried to transition to a healthier lifestyle, you know that immediately after you make a decision to get fit, everyone in the world will suddenly have a birthday party, anniversary celebration, or gameday feast.  You can also guarantee that all sorts of nachos, wings, and desserts piles with everything from peanut butter to pure gold will line the tables.  Just as delicious not-good-for-you snacks appear when you are at your weakest, there are often people who tempt you when you’re at your most vulnerable. A tempter is anyone who tries to talk you into doing something you don’t want to do or know you shouldn’t do.  It can be the significant other who encourages to lower your standards or the pal that that encourages you to do thing you know you should probably avoid. It can even be something as seemingly harmless as seeking materialism because we see others with things we want. These people are dangerous relationships because of the power they hold over us.  Identify some of the people or situations that tempt you in life and try to create positive opportunities instead. If physical boundaries are a challenge for you, take extra steps to avoid being alone with a boyfriend/girlfriend or find someone who holds you accountable for your actions.  If you struggle with partying on the weekends, find a volunteer opportunity on Sunday morning to discourage you from staying out late on Saturday night. How can you eliminate the temptations in your life and incorporate positive relationships in our lives?]]>
