Deuteronomy 31:6 & Psalm 27:1 I’ve never been one to fall asleep quickly at night. Unless I am quickly wiped out, it often takes me quite a while to fall asleep as I toss and turn. Nowadays I’m kept awake by anxious thoughts or worries or just needing to calm down from a busy day. When I was a kid, though, my fears would keep me from sleep. I would lay in my bed at night envisioning every worst case scenario from robbers, monsters, and even aliens storming into my room. Just like the scary thoughts creeped into my head every night as I went to bed, out thoughts that cause fear and worry can greatly affect our lives today as well. If you’re like me, your head is filled with various fears. We can be afraid of the future, afraid of what’s going on in a certain situation, and even afraid of what others might think of us. We immediately jump to worst case scenarios without a second thought of where God is in the situation. We end up feeling hopeless and alone afraid of what is going to come our way next. As children of God, we should learn to stop automatically believing we are immediately in a worst case scenario. We will always face scary and tough situations that will cause fear and worry, God will continue to take care of us as long as we continue to trust Him with our life. What fears are you facing right now that you need to turn over to God?]]>
