Ephesians 4:29 A little while ago, I was out to dinner with my wife, and it was clear that the family beside us were not enjoying their experience. The waitress spent their entire visit adjusting drinks, bringing replacement food, bringing the manager over to field complaints, and just being completely flustered by this group of dissatisfied customers.  If something was brought to the family’s table, a complaint or suggestion immediately followed. We couldn’t help but overhear each problem, and most were simply not that big of a deal. By the end of the service, they walked away with free food and a disheartened waitress was stuck for the rest of the evening. We all have critical people in our lives. We all know what it feels like to have a “Debbie Downer” in the crowd, and I’m sure on more than one occasion, we’ve all been a “Party Pooper.”  We know what it looks and feels like to deal with someone who is never satisfied.  However, when we face difficult situations in our life, it’s important to keep our perspective in check and approach everything with an all-in attitude.  If we do so, we’ll be surprised at the opportunities that come our way. God has sent His Son to die on the cross to forgive us for our sins, so we could trade in a punishment we deserve for a reward we don’t. God has given us life, family, and even friends. While we are busy focusing on our complaints, God continues to bless whether or not we see it or not.]]>
