Proverbs 4:23 Growing up, my mom had a green box full of old family pictures. We used to go through this box and laugh and the various ridiculous hairstyles found within it. Every now and then, you would find a photo negative in the bunch from back when you had to get your film developed instead of just printed from a digital camera. These photo negatives look down right evil. If there were people in the photo, they looked like ghosts or demons. Not far from the photo negative, though, you would find the actual picture that would look the way it was supposed to. Perspective can significantly alter what we see and what we allow ourselves to see.  If we approach a situation with a negative attitude or mindset, we’ve already set ourselves up with the expectation that we’ll be disappointed.  When we approach situations with this mindset, we always make sure that we are disappointed. Like a photo negative, looking at a situation with the wrong attitude can cause a perfectly good situation to seem miserable to us. We need to guard our hearts and attitudes to make sure we have the attitude God would want us to have, so we can be sure that we can clearly see God when He’s present. Approach new and unfamiliar situations with an open mind or positive mindset–you may be surprised at what you ultimately get.]]>
