Read Malachi 3:6-7
When I was younger, I would always get freaked out because I would think I saw someone in the corner of my room or outside when I looked out the window. When I took a second glance, I would see that it was just a shirt laying on a chair or a mailbox outside. We can get a pretty warped view of the world depending on how we look at things. Our perspective is one of the most important things that determine how we feel about life, God, and the world around us.
Many of us have a faulty perspective of God. Maybe it’s because of our past experiences or current circumstances, but we look at Him through the lens of what we’ve been through or are going through. We make decisions on who we think God is based upon what has happened or is happening to us. We view God and His character through the lense of our circumstances. When we do that, we end up with a warped view of who God is.
Instead of looking at God based on what we’ve experiences, we need to look at our circumstances and experiences through the lens of God’s character. If we start first with who God is, we can begin to make at least partial sense of what is going on or has gone on in our life. Don’t allow what you’ve been through to keep you from seeing who God truly is.]]>
