When people talk about evangelists, I envision television preachers with bad hair shouting and waving a Bible in the air. In the rural Southern Baptist church where I grew up, we would “evangelize” by passing out tracts and asking people, “If you were to die today, do you know where your soul would go?” That was the way an evangelist dressed and acted. As I look back, I think we did more harm than good.
Now that I’m older, and hopefully wiser, I see evangelism in a whole new light. All believers are evangelists! It’s our job to tell people what Jesus has done for us, what he is doing for us and what He will do for us. Each of us has a story to share. As you pray today, ask God who He wants you to share this good news with. Ask for the words to say, and pray for that person come to Jesus as their Lord and Savior.]]>
