Philippians 3:7-12 JESUS SAVES US FROM RELIGION Most of us think in terms of “if, … then.” If one thing is true, then something else has to be true, too. For example, if you’re an Ohio State fan, then you hate Michigan. If a dog wags its tail, its happy. If a phone says “iphone” on the back, it’s going to be awesome. Most people think this about being a follower of Jesus as well. They think “if someone is a Christian, then they are a religious person.” The truth is that Jesus came to earth to save us from religion. In fact, Jesus biggest enemies when He was on earth were religious leaders. Religion says that we must live the right way or face the consequences. Jesus says believe in me and all of your sins will be forgiven. Religion is based on rules and laws. Jesus just wants a relationship with us. Do you view your faith as religion or relationship? How can you move away from your faith being about religion and focus on growing your relationship with Jesus? ]]>
