Ephesians 5:15-18 Most of my life has been characterized by my struggle with weight. I’ve lost and gained weight over and over again. One thing I’ve noticed, though, is that the times I have been successful is when I’ve been able to focus on things other than food. If I just try to eat healthier and don’t replace that with doing other activities to keep my mind off pizza and chips, I find myself going straight for the unhealthy foods. To find success, I have to fill the void whether it’s with exercise or even just a hobby. The same is true when we try to break free from any addiction or bad habit. If you don’t replace the negative thing in your life with something positive, you’ll quickly return back to it. In fact, God wants to be the one in our life to fill the void that we try to fill with so many other harmful things. It’s through Him that we can have power over our addictions. It’s through Him that we can be the people we were created to be. Stop trying to fill the void in your life with harmful things and fill it with a growing relationship with God. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
