I’m not a runner, except when I’m running late for a meeting or I’m late for dinner :).  It makes me reflect on the times we can run. What are you running towards? What are you chasing? Is your mind running so far ahead into the future that you feel a lack of peace? We can work ourselves up into a panic because we are afraid that we will miss out on an opportunity, or not have everything planned out.

Maybe there are people around us, in our neighborhood, that are worried about not reaching their goals. We need to take the time to pause, look around us, live in the moment and be content with where we are.  We find contentment when we are able to thrive in any situation, regardless of the challenges we face. Paul writes in Philippians that the secret to a contented life is found in Christ who gives us strength.  When we are content with the season of life we are in, we will be filled with inner peace.

Questions:

(1) What keeps you from being content in this season?

(2) How can you develop more contentment in your daily life?
