Read Philippians 4:14-23

Sometimes doing the right thing costs you something. Maybe you know you should give to someone, or maybe you know that you need to go above and beyond for someone even thought it will put you out some.

In the last part of Philippians, Paul talks about how the people at Philippi had supported him financially. Paul certainly appreciated the gift from the Philippians. But, his focus wasn’t necessarily that he wanted something FROM the Philippians. He wanted something FOR the Philippians. He wanted those people to experience the joy and honor that comes from giving generously toward the causes of Christ.

When it comes to how generous we are in our lives, God doesn’t want something FROM us, He wants something FOR us. He wants us to be a part of what He’s doing in the world. He wants to give us an opportunity to share His love with what He’s blessed us with.

🤔 When’s a time where doing the right thing might have cost you something, but you gained much more from the experience in the end than what you gave up?
