Read: Matthew 4:4

It is not the parts or structure of a vehicle that makes it go. A car can be fully assembled, every part ready to run perfectly, but if it does not have fuel, it will not go anywhere. It is the same with us individually as believers and as members of the body of Christ. What is our fuel? The word of God. Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread along, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” It is the word of God that nourishes and satisfies our souls. It is also the word of God that keeps us strong and healthy spiritually. Psalm 1:2-3 says, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” Fueling ourselves with the word of God is what enables us to prosper and produce fruit. This is why it is so important to spend daily time in the word of God! If you are in a dry place, examine the time you spend in the word; are you getting your nourishment?]]>
