Read Galatians 6:7-10

I saw a post on Facebook a few weeks ago that talked about a year long savings plan.  Basically, each week of the year you save a set amount of money.  For instance, during the first week of a year, you save $1 and in week $26, you put away $26.  If you do this every week for the entire year, you will end up saving $1373 during 2014.  By saving this way, you won’t see results immediately.  If you go to your bank account in February, you will have $10; however, if you hold out until October, you’re going to see nearly $1000.  Early in the year, this savings plan can be discouraging.  It will feel really easy to just forget the plan and spend the $10 on fast food, but if you wait until the end of the year, you’ll have enough money to pay for Christmas or take a nice vacation to wrap up 2014.

The same is true with things that are important to you in life.  There are certainly times throughout our lives that we do not immediately see results.  While it can be incredibly frustrating and discouraging, it’s important to not give up.   God always has a plan in place for our lives, and if we are patient, he will reveal his perfect plan in his perfect timing.

Don’t give up just because you don’t see results immediately. We’ve all had times where we were doing something good, but the results just don’t seem to come. It can be discouraging, and we will want to give up. If it’s something important (spiritual, family, relational, health, professional, etc) don’t give up. Stick it out. Do what’s best. Don’t be discourage about past failures. It’s not about what you’ve allowed yourself to become. It’s about what you are going to allow yourself to become. you can’t change the past, you can’t control the future, you can only do what you can do today.]]>
