Read Genesis 12:4-5 & 2 Timothy 1:6-7
Fear is a funny thing. It can be crippling, cause us to miss out on countless opportunities, and it can sometimes be a fear of some of the most ridiculous things. I seriously know someone with a fear of mustard. How does that even work? I can (sort of) understand not liking mustard, but I’ve never seen a packet of mustard pull a gun on someone or punch them in the face. While some fears are serious and debilitating and have a true source, others can cause us to miss out on numerous opportunities and blessings.
In the Bible, we see constant evidence of individuals getting past their fear and relying on faith to fulfill God’s plan for their lives. It wasn’t that they weren’t afraid, it’s just that they didn’t allow their fear to trump their trust in God’s ability to deliver on his promises.
When we allow fear to control our lives, we miss out on countless opportunities that God has prepared for our lives. The best decision you can make in your life sometimes is to step out and trust God–he has an incredible plan for your life, if you’re willing to trust him.]]>
