Read Hebrews 11:8-10

These days, it seems like there is a pill or medicine for everything.  There are pills to make your hair and fingernails grow; there are medications to help you overcome just about any illness or disease.  There have even been medicines created to help combat problems we’ve brought upon ourselves.  Even though there is seemingly a magic pill for everything, the same isn’t often true in our lives.

While we like instant gratification and immediate results, it’s important to realize that often the greatest changes in life require time and direction. Most of us would love to be able to take a pill, snap our fingers, or blink our eyes and have everything in our life take shape just the way we want it to, but that’s just not the way life typically works. To see God work in our life, to see positive results, we have to step out and take the first steps toward the future we want.

Choose a first step to make a great change in your life.  If it’s a financial problem, cut up a credit card or set up a family budget.  If you want to live a healthier lifestyle, cut out pop or start taking a  walk around the block every evening. No matter how small–make a step in the positive direction for your life this week.]]>
