Read Deuteronomy 28:1-3
Have you ever been trying to figure something out you’ve been working on for minutes, hours, or even days, and, then, someone walks up and immediately sees what you’re missing after just a few seconds and solves the puzzle? It can be so frustrating to spend so much time working on something with little success and have someone else come in and immediately solve the problem. Sometimes you can be too close to a situation to see it objectively. Sometimes a situation just needs a fresh pair of eyes.
Many of us need a fresh pair of eyes when it comes to our faith in God. So often, we get caught in the trap of thinking through things with the “what if” syndrome. What if this doesn’t work or that doesn’t happen the way I want it to? This thinking can lead to us being complacent and scare to step out and try anything because we might not succeed.
But, this isn’t how God wants us to look at the opportunities in our life. Instead of being afraid to fail, the bigger danger is missing out on all the things that God has planned for us. Many people worry about dying, but the bigger fear should be to keep living without ever truly living the life that God has called you to. Instead of looking at the opportunities you have with fear of not succeeding, begin to look at them for opportunities for God to do something great.
