Read Daniel 6:4-5
I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of the butterfly effect. It’s a concept in chaos theory that says that changes in an environment, no matter how small, can have a big impact. The classic example is that a single flap of a butterfly’s wings could possibly determine whether or not a hurricane would form miles away weeks later. While weather is probably not that sensitive to change, I think the idea is interesting. How much could small decisions and tiny changes in behavior change where we end up in our life?
With the new year upon us, it is easy to bite off ambitious goals and fall off the wagon quickly. In fact, many of us have probably already made and broken many new years resolutions. We always think that the new year is a great time to make big changes in our life. But, reality is, most big changes come from making small changes in our life a consistent habit over the long haul.
This week, choose one aspect of your life where you can make a small change today that will have a long term impact down the road. When you see an improvement in your life, your marriage, your relationship with Christ, and your relationships with others, you’ll be glad you made a small change.]]>
