Read 1 Kings 20:13-14
I’m the type of person that wants to see things happen, but I’m not the type that likes to do anything about it. I like to talk about what needs to happen and hope that someone else will step up and take care of it. I don’t often take the initiative to do what needs to be done. I tend to rely on others to take care of things for me. Even though it’s not a good practice, it does work when there are others there to do it to guilt them into it. But, I’ve found that I get in trouble when things are left up to me.
Many of us approach our hopes and dreams in the same way. We want something to happen, but we don’t want to take the initiative to achieve them in our life. We want things handed to us or to fall into our lap.
Instead of passively waiting for good things to happen, we need step up and do what it takes to get to where we want to go. God is there for us, loves us, and has an amazing plan for our life, and we can experience all that God has in store for us if we start making the decisions we need to take to get there.
