Read 1 Peter 2:1-5
Even as a little kid, I’ve always loved technology and electronics. I’ve always had cables and cords scattered behind televisions and throughout rooms. I’ve never ceased to be amazed at how quickly these things can tangle and knot themselves up. It seems if you lay a cord within 10 feet of another cord, it will find away to make itself into the biggest knot you’ve ever seen. It takes incredible effort to get these cord untangled, and even more to keep them from knotting up again.
Our lives are much the same way. When we aren’t intentional about our spiritual growth, we will naturally become more tangled up and find ourselves farther from God. Pretty soon, if left unchecked, we will find ourselves in situations that we never intended to be in. None of us miraculously grow closer to God by accident. It takes being intentional about what we are doing and why
As we begin a new year, it’s time to realize that, if we want results, we have to be intentional about the decisions we make and the actions we take. We aren’t going to end up where we want to be unless we are intentional about taking next steps to get there. When it comes to spiritual growth and getting closer to God, the most important thing you can do is put in the effort of spending time with Him.READ THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT Today’s Reading: Revelation 19]]>
