Ephesians 4:26-27 If you talk to my friends I grew up with, they would tell you that I don’t get mad very often. They would also tell you that, if I do get angry, you better watch out. They will tell stories of how alot of things won’t seem to bother me that would upset many people, but then, after a while, something completely random would set me off. One time, we were playing basketball at night. I couldn’t see the ball when it was passed to me, and it drilled me in the face. I got angry at the person who thought it was a good idea to play ball with a black basketball at 10 pm! I look back at moments like those when I allowed anger to finally get the best of me, and I am ashamed of it. We’ve all been there in those moments when we get so upset that we just erupt, but it doesn’t mean it’s okay. The Bible tells us that God is never okay with bad anger in our life. Bad anger is when we get angry at something that doesn’t truly matter or mad at something that should upset us, but it causes us to respond in the wrong way. How often do you react badly because of your anger? Maybe you go off over things that you should just be able to shake off. Or you maybe have sinful responses to things that should upset you. Either way, it’s never okay to allow your anger to lead you to sin. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
