Bible In A Year | Read: Romans 16
17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. Romans 16:17-19
Overview of Chapter
Paul gives final greetings to a number of people. Some have wondered how Paul could have known so many people in a church he never visited. No one knows for sure, but it’s possible he had met people from Rome during his travels.
Though Paul is dealing with issues of belief, he never forgot he was interacting with people, some of whom he knew and loved. For those who enjoy Bible study, there is the risk of it becoming an impersonal pursuit of knowledge. It should always include real impact on real people.
Action Steps
Bible: What is God showing me? What am I going to do about it?
Bless: Serve one person through word, action, or gift today.
Have you ever thought it would be cool to hear some C3 leaders discuss the daily verses, share about their lives and mostly just talk about nonsense?
