Read 2 Timothy 2:15-19

On my High School football team, there was a good player who had a bad attitude. He brought the whole team down because he constantly complained about everything from the coaches to the weather. He was talented, but he actually made the team worse because of his horrible attitude. Because he was so negative, there were many other players who became negative, started complaining, and actually began playing worse.

Bad attitudes spread like gangrene. It moves from person to person and begins affecting everyone around. People stop having fun and start looking for negatives. They stop working hard, they stop being productive, and the joy is sucked right out of the situation.

This happens alot when it comes to church. It just takes one person to be negative to cause several people around them to become negative. It affects everyone around them, and, before you know it, people stop having fun and stop doing all of what God wants them to do. When you have a negative attitude, it not only affects what God can and will do through you, it also affects what God can and will do through those around you.

How’s your attitude when it comes to serving God and church? Are you bringing people down with a negative attitude or lifting them up with a positive one?
