Read Romans 5:3-5

I loved sports when I was in school. I played 3-4 sports every year in High School. At the beginning of each new year, there was always this hope and anticipation that this was going to be the year when we’d have some success. It wasn’t. My entire time playing sports in High School, we never won anything significant. At some points, it felt like all the work I did in practice for all those sports seemed to be worthless because we never accomplished our goals.

But, as I look back on those years, I learned alot about myself and alot about life through playing sports. I learned how to persevere when things were tough, how to work with other people, and a slew of other life lessons. In fact, I learned more through those times about life than I have anywhere else, and those lessons have helped me become who I am today.

Many times, we think the process is pointless. We would love to be able to fast forward to the destination, but the process isn’t pointless. The process is the point. The process defines you more than even the end result does. My life would be no different today if we had won championships in High School, but I am different because of the process it took to play those sports.

In your everyday life, remember that the process is the point. Enjoy your time working toward your goals and God’s dream for your life. Work hard to serve and become who God wants you to be instead of worrying so much about the end result.
