Read Hebrews 11:1-4
In the classic greek culture, the best shot at immortality was by becoming a hero. They thought that, if you did something truly great, you would be remembered long after you were gone. While we know that true immortality and eternal life come from a relationship with God and believing in what Christ has done for us on the cross. But, there’s still something inside of us that wants to be remembered after we are gone. We want to leave a legacy.
The Bible talks about how Abel was a true hero because, in his life, he acted in faith. He put his faith, trust, and hope in God and God alone. Abel left a legacy long after he was gone because he lived his life by putting his faith in God.
What about you? What kind of legacy will you leave? Will you be a hero who constantly live faithfully to God or a zero who always did it their own way?
