Read Joshua 14:6-10
I’m the resident “tech guy” in my family. Anytime a family member has something wrong with their computer, a TV remote they can’t figure out, or a new dvd or blu-ray player, I’m the one they call. I don’t really know a whole lot about computers and things, I am just patient enough to figure things out. I don’t simply give up and lose faith in something when it doesn’t immediately work the way it should. I keep trying until it’s fixed.
This is the same type of attitude that Caleb had in his life. When he and Joshua told their people they believed that God was going to give them the promised land, he truly believed it. Caleb continued to believe that God was going to give them the promised land until God actually came through. The only problem was that God waited 45 years in order to make good on His promise.
God always makes good on His promises. Caleb knew that God is always faithful and never waivers, so he was able to trust God no matter how bleak the circumstances looked.
Are you committed to God and His promises in your life? Or, do you get impatient and lose faith at the first sign that things aren’t working out the way you think they should?
