Read Romans 8:31-34 A few years ago, I heard that a friend of mine had been saying bad things about me behind my back. It crushed me because I thought that I could trust my friend. There’s very few feelings that hurt as much than someone you care about talking badly about you behind your back. But, on the flip side, there are few things greater than when you hear that someone said something positive about you while you weren’t around. This is what Jesus is doing for us everyday. He is pleading our case for us to God. In Romans 8, Paul’s declaration is that, if God is for us, then who can stand against us? He talked about how God did not spare His very own Son for us. If God gave up His son for our benefit, doesn’t it just make sense that God will do even much more for us? There’s no charge that can stick for those who are in Jesus. God has justified us. This means that God has made us right with Him even though we didn’t deserve it. No one can condemn those of us who have Jesus at the right hand of God interceding for us. Many people have a belief that God is against them. Sometimes, when things aren’t going our way, it can even feel like He is. But, there is nothing that can stand against us when we have God on our side. There are many voices that try to tear us down and make us believe that we are something less than what God has said about us. But, those who are in Christ are secure in their identity in Him. Not only is God for you, but Jesus is standing at the right hand of God pleading our case for us on our behalf. He’s got our back. Reflect What are some things that you might believe about yourself that others or yourself have accused you or charged you of? What would God say about these things? How would truly believing God is for you change how you live? Pray In your prayer time today, recite Romans 8:31-34 to God. Thank God for each promise He has made to you in this passage. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
