SPIRITUAL TIP – Worry and Fear Read Matthew 6:25-34. Here are some specific things you can do this week that will help you quit living with worry and fear: One of the best ways to overcome worry or fear is to seek God until He takes it away. One of the best ways to seek God is to spend more time with Him. The more time you spend with Him, the closer you will become. Commit to spending more time with God beginning this week. You may need to double or even triple the normal amount of time you spend with Him in reading the Bible and in prayer. As you spend more time seeking God through reading His word, there are a number of verses in the Bible that talk about overcoming worry and fear and the strength we receive from God. Read the following verses and allow the power of God’s word to give you strength and courage in overcoming your fears: Joshua 1:3-9, 1 Chronicles 28:20, Isaiah 41:10-13, Isaiah 54:4, Matthew 10:26, Matthew 10:28, Romans 8:15, 2 Corinthians 4:7-11, Philippians 1:12-14 and Hebrews 13:5-6.

DAILY PRAYER

Commit to God that you will seek Him more by spending more time in prayer and in reading His word.

HEALTH TIP – Lower Your Sodium

This is another tip that can dramatically accelerate your weight loss results and that is paying attention to the amount of sodium you consume. Sodium is critical for survival. On the other hand, too much sodium can increase blood pressure, cause water retention and bloating (which results in weight gain) and generally slow the weight loss process. To make matters worse, most restaurant and pre-packaged foods are loaded with sodium. It’s not uncommon for the average American to consume 5 – 7 times the Recommended Daily Allowance (the US Government recommends no more than 2300 mgs). Sodium can also hide under a few different names: Sodium Chloride (Table Salt), Disodium Phosphate and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG’s). Your 11th Goal – Try to choose more “whole foods” over “packaged” or prepared foods. Natural foods always have less sodium. Also, try to avoid adding salt to your food or try a new salt-free seasoning.

HOME TIP – One Job at a Time

One of the easiest ways to give up on any project is to become overwhelmed early on. That’s why you should always do ONE project at a time. Never bite off more than you can chew. Don’t try to do two projects at once. ONE JOB AT A TIME.]]>
