SPIRITUAL TIP – Comparing Read 1 Samuel 18:6-9. – How did Saul resent God’s goodness in others while ignoring God’s blessings in his own life? – Why do we so often resent God’s goodness in the lives of others and ignore God’s blessings in our own lives?

DAILY PRAYER

Thank God for all He has done in your life and for the many blessings He has given you.

HEALTH TIP – Enjoy healthy fats

Good sources of healthy fat are needed to nourish your brain, heart and cells, as well as your hair, skin, and nails. Foods rich in certain omega-3 fats called EPA and DHA are particularly important and can reduce cardiovascular disease, improve your mood and help prevent dementia. Add to your healthy diet: – Monounsaturated fats, from plant oils like canola oil, peanut oil, and olive oil, as well as avocados, nuts (like almonds, hazelnuts, and pecans), and seeds (such as pumpkin, sesame). – Polyunsaturated fats, including Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, found in fatty fish such as salmon, herring, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, and some cold water fish oil supplements. Other sources of polyunsaturated fats are unheated sunflower, corn, soybean, and flaxseed oils, and walnuts. Reduce or eliminate from your diet: – Saturated fats, found primarily in animal sources including red meat and whole milk dairy products. – Trans fats, found in vegetable shortenings, some margarines, crackers, candies, cookies, snack foods, fried foods, baked goods, and other processed foods made with partially hydrogenated vegetable oils.

HOME TIP – Use the mini-cleaning technique

Do spot cleaning when you are in a room. When you are in the bathroom already and you have just used the sink, grab a paper towel (from the roll you placed in the bathroom,) and wipe off the entire counter, especially around the sink, when you are through washing up. Quick and easy, but it makes a big difference. A second paper towel, dampened just with clear water, can be used on your mirror once a day to keep it shining clean and free of those toothpaste and soap spatters. You do not need window cleaner; just clean water will do the job. You can do the same sort of thing in any room. When you are done with a meal clear everything off the table immediately and wipe it off or dust and polish it. This takes a very brief time, but has a great effect. Your room looks so much better, the table is ready and available for use, and you will find that you feel better, too.]]>
