Solomon had prayed that GOd would inhabit the temple he had built. It had been his father David’s dream, and God was please with David. So, it was special when God chose Solomon temple. It didn’t mean Solomon was perfect or Israel was perfect, but God chose to live in their midst anyway. God didn’t say “if I shut up the heavens”, he said “when I shut up the heavens.” God knew that His people would disobey Him. God was showing that He planned to save people despite their sin and rebellion. The temple was where God would demonstrate His salvation. Take a few minutes today reflecting on the fact that God loves you and send His Son to die for you, even when He knew your sin and disobedience. Pray and thank Him for being a God of forgiveness and salvation.
