4 x 6 Plan | Read: Matthew 11:1-19 & Romans 8:18-30

Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.”(Matthew 11:4-5)

Have you ever found yourself questioning or doubting your faith? Maybe you’ve encountered difficult circumstances or unanswered prayers that have left you wondering if God is truly at work in your life. In Matthew 11:1-19, we see even John the Baptist, a faithful prophet who prepared the way for Jesus, struggling with doubt. He sends his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” It’s a thought-provoking question that reflects John’s moment of uncertainty. In response, Jesus doesn’t rebuke John or dismiss his doubts. Instead, He points to the evidence of God’s grace at work. He reminds John’s disciples of the miracles and signs they have witnessed—the blind receiving sight, the lame walking, and the good news being preached to the poor. Jesus encourages them to take comfort in the fact that the kingdom of God is advancing, even amidst doubt and uncertainty. This grace perspective reminds us that it’s okay to have questions and doubts, but it also encourages us to look beyond our circumstances and trust in the evidence of God’s grace at work.

So today, if you find yourself wrestling with doubt or uncertainty, take heart. Jesus invites us to look at the evidence of His grace in our lives. Reflect on the times when God has shown His faithfulness, His provision, and His love. Remember that even in the midst of our doubts, God’s grace is still at work, bringing healing, restoration, and transformation. Let’s cling to the truth that His grace is sufficient for us, and that He is always at work, even when we can’t see or understand it fully.

The “Great” News of the Gospel | Romans 8:18-30

In Romans 8:18-30, we are reminded of the hope that the gospel brings, even in the midst of suffering and uncertainty. It’s easy to get discouraged when we face trials and challenges in life, but the good news is that God’s grace is working in and through those difficult circumstances. The perspective assures us that no matter what we endure, God is working all things together for our good.

The Apostle Paul encourages us to look beyond our present sufferings and fix our eyes on the glory that awaits us. The sufferings of this world are temporary and light compared to the eternal glory that will be revealed in us. We can find comfort and hope knowing that God’s grace is transforming us, renewing our minds, and conforming us to the image of Christ. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us in our weakness, and we can trust that God is working everything according to His purpose. This perspective allows us to embrace the challenges of life with confidence and assurance, knowing that God’s grace is sufficient and His plan for us is good. Hold on to the truth that the gospel is good news, even in the midst of suffering. Let’s allow God’s grace to shape our perspective and give us hope. May we find strength in knowing that our present sufferings are not in vain, but are producing an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. Let’s trust in God’s unfailing love, lean on His grace, and live with anticipation of the glorious future He has prepared for us.
