Psalm 50:9-12 Have you ever been trying to help someone, and you just feel like you’re in the way? A few years ago, I went to help out at a local outreach ministry. I showed up eager to help, but I felt like I was just in the way the whole time. It seemed like the group already had things covered, and I had no clue what I had to offer to help out. I wanted to be involved, I wanted to help, but I had no clue how to do it. No one ever stopped and told me what opportunities were available. Just like the ministry that was humming along fine before I showed up, God does just fine when it comes to resources. God doesn’t need our money. In fact, if He wanted to, He could operate in the world completely without us. He’s good. He doesn’t need us. he has things covered. But, what’s cool with God is that He actually does give us an opportunity to participate. He wants us to get involved in what He’s doing in the world. He has shown us exactly what we can do to help out. God gives us the ability to pitch in and help with what He’s doing in our world through sacrificing our time, our talent, and our treasure. Even though God has all the money He will ever need, He gives us the opportunity to be able to invest in His church and to be a small part of the life change that happens all around us. But, the question is, are we going to take God up on His opportunity, or are we content just to go through the motions in life and never be apart of anything as awesome as God using our investment to impact lives? // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
