Deuteronomy 30:15-18 I love watching shows like American Ninja Warrior on tv. If you’re not familiar with it, athletes from all over America compete to see who can complete a course with a series of incredibly difficult obstacles with the fastest times. Many of the participants seem to breezing through the course until, all of the sudden, an obstacle creeps up on them, causes them to fall into the water underneath, and ends their run and chance of winning. I think life seems like competing on American Ninja Warrior sometimes. You’re going along, doing your best, when, all of the sudden, an obstacle will smack us square in the face. Maybe it was a bad result from a health test, bad news at work, or some issue with someone we are closer to. Whatever it is, we’re often tempted to just give up when we face the speed bumps that life throws our way, but God doesn’t want us to give up. God knows that we all face obstacles – especially when we are already stretched because we are trying to step out in faith in Him. God is with us every step of the way to help us navigate the obstacles that could hinder us. So often, their purpose is to help us learn to lean on Him anyway. No matter what obstacle you come up against, don’t allow it to drive you away from God. Make sure it helps drive you toward Him. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:

  1. What was the best part of your day?
  2. What was the toughest part of your day?
  3. Where did you mess up today?
  4. Where did you see God today?
Reflect: Why do you think God allows obstacles in our life when we are trying to do well? Pray: In your prayer time today, think of the obstacles that others in your life are facing. Take a few minutes to pray for those people and ask God to help get them through and also ask Him how you might help them out. READ THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT: Today’s Reading: Romans 16]]>
