Judges 6:11-16 Steve jobs was an adopted kid who dropped out of college and fired from his own company before eventually leading one of the most successful companies of our time. J.K. Rowling went through poverty, divorce, and depression before becoming a wildly successful author. Mother Teresa had to fight with her overseers for the opportunity to serve in Calcutta and faced numerous tough times on her way to becoming one of the most looked up to figures in the church. History is full of the most unlikely of people doing incredible things. Even in their darkest moments, these types of people stuck with it and believed that they would be able to see things through. Like Samson, we often face times when we feel completely inadequate for what God or we want for our lives. We feel like we are to weak or aren’t good enough to do what we are supposed to do. We look around at others and view them as being so much better than us, and it gets us discouraged. But, like He did with Samson, God sees much more in us than we even see in ourselves. God sees the person He created and the potential we have. Instead of allowing self doubt and our feelings of inadequacy to sneak into our lives, maybe we should learn to see ourselves the way God sees us and realize that He has given us so much more than we realize. We may not be much without God’s help, but, with God, there’s no limit to the incredible things God can do with our ordinary lives. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:

  1. What was the best part of your day?
  2. What was the toughest part of your day?
  3. Where did you mess up today?
  4. Where did you see God today?
Reflect: The Bible is filled with stories of unlikely people like Gideon doing amazing things. Who is an unlikely or ordinary person that has made a big impact on your life? What was it about them or what did they do that made such an impression on you? Pray: Spend some time talking to God about whether or not you feel inadequate at time in your life. Point to those unlikely people who made a big impact on you and ask God to help you be more like them. READ THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT: Today’s Reading: Hebrews 9]]>
