Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 When I was a kid, I’d often try to “shun” my sister because she would make me mad like only a sibling can. I’d try to not talk to her or ignore her for a while until I would realize that no one else would play my crazy combo games like “Mouse-Trap Monopoly” or “Guess Who Battleship” or that she was the only one who knew where my ninja turtle action figure was. Every time I would try to shut her out, I’d realize that I kind of needed her around. Not much changes for us as we get older, though. We are constantly trying to shut people out. It might be because we just don’t want to talk to someone, we’re embarrassed, bitter, or simply confused. Whatever the reason, one of our go to moves when life starts getting crazy is to shut out the people that can be the biggest help in the times we need them the most. God designed us to not only have a relationship with him  but also have relationships with other people. He created us to need people there for us to help  when we fall down, comfort us in the hard times, challenge us when we are lazy, and find long lost action figures. Who have you been shutting out lately that you need to let in?]]>
