Romans 12:4-8 & Provebs 16:9 With the economy the way it is lately, most of us know people who are either unemployed or working unfulfilling jobs. A few years ago, I had a friend who couldn’t find a job. He scoured the classifieds for job openings, applied at business after business, and went in for numerous interviews, but things just didn’t work out. He became more and more depressed over his situation with every passing week that he was unemployed. Then, a funny thing happened, he found a decent job, began working, and he started to cheer up. Sure, maybe getting a paycheck played a role in him becoming happier, but, in the lives of the people I know who have been in those situations, it is more likely the case that the person is depressed because, without work, they feel like they do not have a purpose to get up day after day. Whether you have a job or not, whatever your job is, wherever you are in life, God has a plan and purpose for your life. GOD HAS SOMETHING FOR YOU TO DO in the world and in His church. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t let you stay here. We can become depressed when we don’t think we have a purpose in life. The good news is that you do have a purpose. God has something for you to do. The only question is, what does He have for YOU to do?]]>
